    Don’t mistake opposition for censorship.

No need for bricks. Google just adjusts their algorithms so that anything anti-corporate is deemed hate speech, and disappeared. Facebook includes (or did last year) white men as a protected group when looking for hate speech. But not black children.

As “privatization” proceeds apace, the Constitutional mandate about speech becomes less and less relevant.

So long, Ted Rall, it’s been good to know ya. Some people think they can drive through when the water is running over the road. Some people are delighted when someone gets swept away. Robert Parry had a stroke and now finds it difficult to read and write. I’m not delighted.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and everyone is entitled to speak them. Everyone is entitled to speak them, but no one is allowed by law to incite hate crimes or riots. I will defend to the death you’re right to speak your opinions, but and it’s a big but, you are not allowed to cause harm by your freedom of speech. That’s what freedom is. Freedom is the right to swing your arm as long as it does not connect with someone else’s nose. Having freedom of speech does not mean you have the freedom to harm other people through hate or riot. I like a forum where I’m allowed to say what I think, although if I’m a responsible person, I will not harm anyone else or stop anyone else from saying what they think about any situation or news event. I have always loved a good argument or debate about what is happening in the world. Especially if those debates bring up facts that I didn’t know. I will, of course, always rebut any argument or statement I don’t believe is backed up by the true facts of the matter. Truth is in the mind. Which makes truth out to be a many-sided concept. So you’re entitled to your opinion and I’m entitled to mine.

Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan once famously said that people are entitled to their own opinions not their own facts.Apr 3, 2009
