In 1921, when Babe Ruth had broken the home run record, the Curtiss Candy Company retooled one of their candy bars and began marketing it as the “Baby Ruth.” This, as the story goes, is purely just a bizarre coincidence since the candy bar was clearly named after the first child of Grover and Frances, despite the fact that Ruth Cleveland had died almost two decades before the candy bar debuted.
The argument was solid enough to win the lawsuit brought on by Babe Ruth, himself, and is still the official story to this day.
In that same regard, any allegory in today’s comic to Roy Moore’s deepening problematic situation is purely coincidental.
Interesting how “People” keep pulling up the Mary and Joseph meme to “Explain and Forgive” the disgusting actions of a certain pedophile from Alabama. So, what happened to that whole “Virgin Birth” thing, huh??
Here’s the thing…no matter how you feel about the age of consent or how things may have been done “back in the olden days”, the law is the law and the law says when a person is considered to still be a child. So any justification based on how things may have once been do not hold water.
The odd thing is that the Bible never mentions the ages of either Mary nor Joseph. That is something completely made up – probably by some nasty old man trying to justify his prurient interest in minors.

I never thought I’d live to see the Christmas story used to justify sexual assault.
