The No Rational Alternatives outfit IS the greatest threat to the Second Amendment, and purveor of mass murder in America. Thanks guys. BTW, less than 10% of gun owners are in the NRA.

I comment as a gun owner who thinks there need to be some restrictions. First of all, people with diagnosed mental conditions should not be allowed to own guns. Second, assault weapons should be only in the hands of the police and the military. Third, No weapon undetectable by metal detectors should be allowed to exist. Fourth, Anyone selling firearms to anyone who does not have a legal right to possess one should be arrested and charged with a felony. Fifth, Sale of any firearm at any gun show must be prohibited.

I’ll never unhear those gunshots; and our band & crew will never forget how that moment made them feel. Our hearts are with all the victims

    — Josh Abbott (@joshabbottband)

“I’ve been a proponent of the 2nd amendment my entire life. Until the events of last night. I cannot express how wrong I was. We actually have members of our crew with [Concealed Handgun Licenses], and legal firearms on the bus,” Keeter wrote. “They were useless.” He continued:

We couldn’t touch them for fear police might think we were part of the massacre and shoot us. A small group (or one man) laid waste to a city with dedicated, fearless police officers desperately trying to help, because of access to an insane amount of fire power.

    Enough is enough."

    — Caleb Keeter, the group’s lead guitarist

As long as the NRA, America’s biggest and deadliest Domestic Terrorist Organization is allowed to BRIBE members of "Con"gress, nothing will change.

As a gun owner and collector, I would support the Australian solution. I just don’t see any other way forward at this point of our social evolution.

Can we stop talking about this gun stuff and get back to what’s really gonna help this nation? Tax increases on the middle class to support supply-side tax cuts to the 0.1%. Now that’s a gravy train we can all throw our support behind.

If your heart was with Las Vegas, you wouldn’t accept money to make gun laws more lax. If your thoughts were on the victims of mass shootings, you wouldn’t selfishly take while ensuring the next massacre will be worse. If you can pray for the families of those affected by this tragedy you can be brave enough to do something. What good is a moment of silence in a room full of people who could actually change what is going on?

So far you have all made great points. I like the Australian form of gun control. It appeases those who must have guns. It limits those who could inflict great amounts of damage. And yes it all starts in Congress. But we have to get Congress people to listen to us. How do we do that?

“…we have to get Congress people to listen to us. How do we do that?”S&C

As long as Citizens United and gerrymandering is the way campaigns work, money is counted as speech and corporations are Citizens, there is no hope of Congress listening to the majority of their constituents. They will listen to the money. We will continue to watch people die, either by gunfire or disease. We will continue to be at war and our environment and over-population will end up either choking us, starving us, or exsiccating us.
