Repubs in Congress are pushing a bill to legalize silencers and make it harder to classify ammunition as armor-piercing. Dems are objecting to this in light of the mass murder in Las Vegas. The typical response from Repubs – “this is not the time to politicize guns”.

In America people get incensed by a peek at a breast in a Super Bowl halftime, but not so much when someone is shot in their breast. B—b-b-but guns! We gotta worship guns!

Silencers offer a great way for gun manufacturers to generate new sales. Their marketing arm, the NRA, passes along the political payoffs to facilitate profits.

Along with the 59 who died in Vegas almost 100 died across the rest of the country due to unrestricted access to more powerful guns. Those bullets might be piled in Vegas, but they are literally all over the crime scene. Even the alt-right media got involved and started linking the shooter to the left and terrorist organizations.

How little do Republicans care about those lost that they won’t do anything about guns and our safety, while their media outlets lie about the cause and the NRA pays them to reduce gun laws?

The Nazi Revolutionary Army is still at it. This time they are trying to enact the Sniper Concealment and Protection Act of 2017. The greatest device since smokeless powder. But this is not the time to discuss guns, we must rubber-stamp whatever the NRA orders, with no questions.

President Trump says “we’ll talk about gun control later”. That is so callous. Postponing the discussion. When parents say that, you know the answer is going to be no. When the government says that, you know the answer is going to be no. This time the discussion needs to be what the Second Amendment is really about. Is it about the right to keep and bear simple arms like a pistol or a hunting rifle? Or is it about the right to keep semi and fully automatic assault weapons? This is what the discussion should be about. These are what the regulations should control. Need to be restrictions in place. And it needs to be on the manufacturers as well as on the people who buy them. And that’s where the Hang Up comes in. Manufacturers do not want to give up their profits. So they keep bribing the Congress to turn a blind eye to all of the atrocities happening in America. The restrictions and regulations cannot be one-sided. They won’t work otherwise.

Or as someone said recently, “Thoughts and prayers are for when you care enough to do the very least.”

SFCGaTor says, “This nation has the greatest freedoms in all the world…” That’s true. In what other country would you have the freedom to gun down 600 people whenever you feel like it?
