    Just do something simple like soup and sandwich. Supper shouldn’t be a heavy meal anyway. I’ve been known to have a simple bowl of cereal and fruit for supper.

    Your mother is living there for free and not working. Why should she NOT pick up the slack? I’d guess these two are maybe 40ish, which puts Sarah in her 60s. I’m 63 and work more than 40 hours a week and do all the household chores, including mowing the yard because my husband is disabled. What does Sarah do all day except criticize everyone? My mother is 88 and she still makes most of the meals for my dad and herself. Dad vacuums and washes dishes. They don’t want to just sit around and watch television all day.
