    Naw, gerrymandering is fabulous, as long as it helps the Right People win, right?

    So what if it makes ‘safe’ seats that render legislators untouchable. We need those kinds of politicians, right?

    I hate to point this out to an Obama hater, but most people in politics start as community organizers. It’s hard to win even a City Council seat if people don’t know you at all.

    And she doesn’t know what district she lives in? Then she hasn’t voted. Should she really be running for City Council if she doesn’t even know who her City Councilman currently is?

    Districts should be drawn by an independent agency of civil servants, according to neutral criteria that are enshrined in law. If possible, it should be largely done by an algorithm.

    I like the fact that CA went that route, also think it funny that the GOTP went to court to try and kill that idea. Now its the highest vote getters who run, even if its 2 GOTP or 2 Dems
