    Good morning Vagabonds.

Going to be another nice sunny day, cool with chance of scattered showers. That’s if you can believe them.

That’s all that’s going on around here.

    Have a good day.

    Hay, Vagabonds

It’s Saturday again! Clouds with possible rain all day.

Yep, Saturday, shopping day at the grocery store. I still ain’t sure how I got this job. (o.0)

Well, I’ll soon tend to my list, feed the cats and get going.

    A fine day to all.

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

Hooray! It’s Saturday! (Golly, being retired, EVERY day is Saturday!) Supposed to be chilly for the next week. I guess Autumn is finally settling in.

Cleaning lady comes this morning, so we’ll do a Costco run and fill up the pantry and refrig.

    xoxo to Everyone

    Happy Trails

Good evening Vagabonds. It’s been a quiet day here in Mid-Mo. The weather is really nice right now with temps in the mid 70’s and tomorrow will repeat today. I love fall weather! Our oak trees are beginning to change color and will soon be all red and yellow. Beautiful days ahead.

The monarch butterflies are migrating and I am watching a news report about catching , tagging, and releasing them so their migratory routes can be traced.

Everyone have a great day, and I will see you all after church.

    Hello Vagabonds

One week after four 90 degree days it is 32 degrees outside. (0.O) frosty.

Well, it’s Oktoberfest time again, I like om-pa-pa music but I’m not fond of beer, well, root beer is good.

I’ve got to scare out some new stores about haunted Vermont, like there is a ghost walk in Burlington I’d like to take.

Keep warm all you good folks of the village and may God bless.

    Good morning, Vagabonds,

We still didn’t get that rain they promised. Maybe tonight. Right. It was warm enough to just wear a sweatshirt yesterday and be very comfortable. More of the same today.

Mark, I’m with you on the om-pa-pa music! Also never cared for beer. Now wine…………LOVE wine!

Lucky you, Chris. We’ve watched the migration many times going through the Victorville area in CA. Fascinating how they migrate. And, different routes, too. (eastern and western) I don’t think any come up this way.

    xoxoxo to the Village

    Happy Trails.

    Good morning Vagabonds.

Sunny today after a rainy day yesterday. Temp in low 60’s.

Was in upper 40’s last night and we had the heat on to take the chill off of the house. To early for the heat. Will warm up at the end of the week.

Not much else to do, not like you people.

A good day to all of you.

Good afternoon, Vagabond friends…it’s 79 degrees & rainy here in So. Fla.

I too like the German Oom-Pah music. There are a couple Oktoberfest celebrations nearby…One is at a small, but authentic, German restaurant. The Second is in a park adjacent to a craft brewery…there they will put up a BIG tent and pull out all the stops (music, food, beer, music, dancing). Alas, now-a-days, German lederhosen and dance steps make me think of the Ancestry TV ad, where the guy swaps his lederhosen for a Scottish kilt.

    Good afternoon, Vagabonds.

We are in Whitney, Texas at another Thousand Trails campground. The phone reception here is very poor, so we are dependent on the campground’s provided wi-fi to log in. Ours is a Verizon Jetpack, and you need good phone reception for it to work. So, while we are here, my presence here will be hit and miss.

David, I did wave toward you when we went through Fort Worth on the way here.

Thursday morning, the mobile mechanics showed up and couldn’t do a thing. They did call the manufacturer of the hydraulic motor and found out what the problem probably was. And this cost us $190. I called around and found an RV repair place that knows about hydraulics in Sweetwater.

So, Friday we hit the road again and stopped at that RV repair place, even though the alarm didn’t start up again. They didn’t have the equipment to test the motor either, but they did have a guy who was familiar with the problem and he said there was probably just something that fouled the sensor and if the alarm didn’t start again to just ignore it. So we ignored it until we got to the southern edge of Fort Worth when it started up again. A visual check showed that the jacks were up, so we kept going. After a while the alarm changed to “Retract timeout” and the alarm went quiet.

In the meantime, Michael called a Camping World that we had passed and made an appointment for Saturday morning for them to look at it. We made it to the campground and because of the new alarm, could not put down the jacks at all and thus couldn’t extend the slide-outs either. We spent a very cramped night with our feet butted up against the closet doors. (Anticipating that we might have had to leave the RV at the first place we stopped for a few days, we had packed up to possibly spend some time at a hotel, so we didn’t need to get into the drawers that were blocked by the bed.)

Saturday morning we drove about 50 miles to Camping World near Fort Worth and had them check it out. It turns out that the mobile mechanics had been correct. Of course, they can’t get the replacement part on a Saturday. They may even have to order it on Monday for delivery in a week or so. So, in the meantime, we had them show us how to reset that silly alarm, drove back to the campground and parked the RV, reset and put the jacks down. Pray that they will go back up when we need to move again! Camping World will call and let us know what is happening tomorrow. Hopefully the phone works….

We also scoped out the area and Lake Whitney itself, near the Whitney dam. It is part of the Brazos River and we found a place where you could walk down right next to the dam itself with a great view of the floodgates (which were all shut).

Today Michael went with me to church in Waco. (The nearest Calvary Chapel) It was a nice excursion. I love the country around here!

The weather here is in the mid-80’s, but we don’t seem to mind as much because of all the trees and the breeze.

Michael “goes” back to work tomorrow and I’m not sure what I will be doing. Everyone have a blessed day.
