If the sidewalk is so darn hot why is he standing on it in the last panel?

Only idiots walk barefoot on hot cement. Drabble certainly fits the mold.
Walking on hot sidewalks in bare feet seem to be a Drabble family tradition.
I pointed out last Sunday that there would be no mail. (If it was a weekday, Ralph would be at work or in his uniform.)
Duh!!!!! Grass for three blocks. (not the smoking kind) Walk on it.
This is what the USPS is now suggesting for the future – one set of mailboxes for an entire block or blocks instead of one for each house.
uhmm, why not walk back on the grass???
