A great visual but weakened by the expository (you English majors should remember that one) dialog. A sign on the wall about genetic engineering of poultry would have been enough. When the comedic leap is too easy, the humor is weakened, as if the joke is being explained to us.
(OK, I admit it. I couldn’t come up with a turkey joke.)
Not to worry - the turkeys that they’ve bio-engineered to meet consumers’ tastes have such unbalanced and unnatural weights that they are unable to stand for more than a couple of seconds at a time (not that they would be able to move far anyway, since they’re packed as tightly into their coops as they can be). The mutant turkey will soon collapse and join his brethren on the floor, wallowing in inches-deep turkey excrement. The turkey’s revenge is far more likely to come in the form of viral pandemics that will wipe out huge segments of the populations, thanks to the copious use of growth-promoting anti-biotics and their unintended effect of allowing viruses to mutate into anti-biotic-resistant forms more quickly. Airborne mad cow, mad turkey, or mad chicken diseases are in our not-too-distant future.
