It’s bad enough that we have desecrated these rocks with the graven images of those men and that the “monument” was nothing more than some “make-work” project authorized as part of the “New Deal” back in the 1930s.
Too bad we can’t restore the rock to its original formation, but we can let time erode the images away and prevent others from desecrating the rock any further by adding more graven images.
