Well, the the possum is not as dead as they thought!

I saw a dead seagull on the road yesterday.

It’s not the first time though. There are loads of seagulls around here (too many) and they do like to walk on the road.

People nowadays…

I found a dead possum in my front yard once. I went around back to get a shovel to carry it off and bury it. When I returned with the shovel, the possum was gone. I struggled for a moment to think who would steal a dead possum.

Do Possums actually play dead, well, I don’t think they are playing, but…. The stress of the confrontation facing the opossum causes him to go into shock. This shock induces a comatose state that can last from 40 minutes to four hours. While “dead,” the opossum’s body is limp, its front feet form into balls and drool runs out of its mouth.
