On the subject of ballplayers with good causes, Mariano Rivera and his wife Clara bought a dilapidated century-old church and renovated it for their Refuge of Hope. Ever hear of “The North Avenue Irregulars”? Same church that the real Irregulars operated from in the Sixties.

Pujols is a good man. Many MLB players have foundations that do wonderful things but the press would rather report the negatives.
