His Tweet: "The FAKE NEWS MEDIA is gonna kill me because I’m a friend to the TRUE PATRIOT VLADIMIR PUTIN! It’s a WITCH-HUNT and MCCARTHYISM! What about OBAMA wiretapping my TOWER? [Forgive me if this “Tweet” is too long; I don’t use Twitter for this reason and for the Narcissist-and-Neo-Soviet-Sleeper-Agent-in-Chief using it.]

He didn’t tweet “something,” he went after the mayor of London in the wake of a terrorist attack, and lied about what the mayor said in order to do it.

He didn’t tweet “something” – he attacked the entire judicial branch (for being “political” – irony, anyone?)

He didn’t tweet “something,” he attacked his own Justice Department (saying that they submitted a “watered-down version” of the Travel Ban to the Supreme Court, which probably means one more likely to pass).

And he called it “what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!” thus contradicting his own lawyers, who have been arguing that it WASN’T a travel ban.

    And that’s in one day.

So the argument is the press should ignore statements by the President of the United States?

Trump is digging his own political grave with his ill-considered tweets. It’s up to the press to keep him from taking the country down with him.

Ignatz: Good thoughts, but remember, these strips are at least two weeks old before we see them. Both British terrorist attacks had not yet happened when these strips went to ink.

I’m disappointed, Scott. Seems like support for violence because of an opinion. I thought you were better than that.

Kyle of Lachish: In light of the above, Carmen really doesn’t make sense at all. However, one of the main themes of Trump supporters is that he “pisses off” (apologies for using that word) the so-called right people (“right” as in “correct” and presumably “leftist” people). Which is the real problem the goose that thinks he’s king of the United States is having: He’s living the Republican dream of not caring what anybody else thinks. When the day comes that he needs their support for that “really big deal,” those people may just return the favor…

The Goose that thinks he’s King of the United States: With apologies to Frazier and Garfield – if you were from Chicago in the 1960s, you’d know the references.

Carmine should understand but the whole comic’s premise is faulty. Seeing it as some free-for-all. Not among the majors and the Leftist press you never hear of.
