Cancer wasn’t as prevalent when the average life expectancy was 25, either. The longer you live, the greater the chance of a cell misfiring and becoming cancerous.
However, that doesn’t mean we should stop research. We have made HUGE progress, and have a much wider array of treatments, whereas it was not so long ago that cancer was automatically a death sentence.
