The Dems aren’t stupid. They pick and choose their fights so that their base doesn’t figure out how crooked they are. After all they picked Garland as their nominee. He’s just as bad as they guy they are “fighting” against.
This is the problem of having a locked in two party system. Eventually both parties become corrupted. The Democrats turned in 1980 to the Dark Side of Plutocracy. And away from the Light Side of democratic government.
The Democrats prepare to filibuster Neil Gorsuch, and after blocking Merrick Garland, the Republicans act like this is treason. Their answer is to change the rules of the Senate to require 50 instead of 60 votes, because it is more important to Republicans to win by any means necessary.
Others have posted, as have I, that Reagan could not get the GOP nomination today.GOPers can say “Not true!”But he believed in compromise if it would mean he could get some of what he wanted, as did Tip O’Neil!
The Democrats did filibuster the far-right supreme court nominee Neil Gorsuch. so they changed the rules of the Senate. The Republicans are only mad that the Democrats won’t nominate this far-right corporate shill judge. They wouldn’t have lost had the regular rules applied, but the republicans changed the rules.
as shown in the Cartoon, it is obviously the Democrats fault that the Republicans can’t vote for Democrat nominated judges or find Republican nominate judges that any Democrat would want to elect. They own the house, senate, stolen white house and stolen supreme court. So sure, its the democrats fault some how.
Wow, Ted, taking a shot at one of the two Democratic Senators who HAVE stood up to the Republicans and who doesn’t give a crap if they like her or not — Elizabeth Warren. Do you actually READ the news, or have you pre-condemned everyone based on your personal prejudices?
