I haven’t gone through the comments for all the strips since Bandy Dessinay was recently introduced, nor for his previous appearances, but I do expect that most Anniephans have noticed that his name is pretty close to Bande dessinée, French for “comic strip.” The fact that he’s Belgian sort of suggests Hergé, the created The Adventures of Tintin. I apologize for perhaps insulting the intelligence or knowledge of many of the people here, but perhaps some haven’t noticed.
