The hymn, “Amazing Grace” was written by John Newton, who was a slaver. A shipwreck changed his life, he turned against slavery, and later wrote this hymn, one of the best loved of all time. So…a former bad guy wrote the song, another former bad guy is touched. Neat.

The one that always gets to me is “How Great Thou Art”. I haven’t managed to get all the way through it dry-eyed yet.
