I always eat too much over the holidays and enjoy doing so. I take the time in January to get rid of the extra pounds. In the spring, summer and fall, I exercise a lot (gardening, biking, walking for exercise, etc.) so I get to eat a lot just to keep my weight up. I walk in the winter too, but there is no gardening, and it is mostly unsafe for biking then.
