Ted Rall for December 06, 2016
Transcript:
Narrator: Republicans tirelessly blocked Obama's nominees at every turn. Ditto for the Democrats' bills. Barack Obama: How about- Man: No Barack Obama: or maybe- Man: No Barack Obama: Uh- Man: No Narrator: Obama looked totally useless and ineffective. Since Hillary ran on his record, Republicans won. Donald Trump: She was in there. What did she get done? Nothing! Narrator: So what are democrats doing now that they're out of power? Capitulating. Man 2: We're not the "Party of no" We'll look for common ground. Work together. Narrator: Which seems particularly strange considering how extreme Trumpism is. Man 2: Yay, infrastructure!

First you have to build that giant bureaucracy to administer and enforce deportations and religious discrimination.

You had a choice, Ted. And you chose to eviscerate the only sane person in the race who had a chance of stopping Fuhrer Trump. Better hope for your sake that the liberal media doesn’t get sent to those reeducation camps also!

I’m in favor of a world of diversity. There aren’t many Americas left, so let’s keep it. Trump is not building Death Camps, he’s preventing our country from becoming like the UK, where Mohammad is now the second most-common name for newborn males. Think about that, the land of Johnathan Swift, Thackeray, and George Orwell…dismantling itself over colonial guilt.

I’m in favor of peanut-butter & jelly diversity. There aren’t many Sandwiches left, so let’s eat it. President-elect Trump is not building anything, he’s encouraging xenophobic reactionaries, like in the U.K., where Swift (an Irishman), Thackeray (born and raised in India), and George Orwell (also born and raised in India) wrote of intolerance, oppression and the universal brotherhood of man.
America is the world’s melting-pot, and there is no guilt or shame associated with being the most idealistic country on earth, and in continuing our grand experiment in self-governance.

RT is now broadcast at 2 AM in our area. It used to be on at 7 PM. Out of appreciation for its continuing efforts, maybe Trump can get it back to prime time again.

I thought during the election that Ted was one of Trump’s Chumps

You mean they’re NOT converting the FEMA camps?

This is hardly surprising, considering Nancy impeachment-is-off-the-table Pelosi and Barack look-forward-not-back Obama. We need far more like Alan Grayson, but instead he got obliterated in the Florida Senatorial Democratic primary – by a Republican in Democratic clothing endorsed by Obama and other Democratic politicians. So, someone tell me once again how important it is that I vote for the Democrats who are merely the politer version of Republicans.

Not MY senator, Ted. Warren hasn’t given up the fight.

I can’t believe the democrats couldn’t find a better candidate, but one wonders if anyone in either party could have stopped Trump.

And the Republicans, who claim to be “for” jobs and manufacturing, voted AGAINST bailing out the auto industry, which would have meant MORE overseas importing, and BIGGER trade deficits. If you REALLY want PROGRESS, KICK YOUR DAMN REPUBLICONS out of the effing swamp!

Way to go Rall! You spent eight years dissing on Obama, then two years byatching about Hilary, but nary a word about Trump until after he was elected. And now you’re lamenting the state of the nation. Too little, too late, Teddy boy!

Night-Gaunt49
I did. I managed to find a fairly readable translation that tried to get the ideas as more important than reproducing the 19th century formal German. It was enlightening, but still boring, even more so than Capital. Early translations of the title favored My Battle, although the word can be translated either way. The military vehicle is called tank in English, char in French, but Panzer Kampfwagen in German [literally armored battle vehicle]. Tank was a British code name implying a water carrier, and char comes from chariot.
