The point is that morphing into couch potatoes is akin to semi-hibernation.

My wife and I plan to get through our unwatched Downton Abbey episodes this winter. Something like three seasons worth.

We’re all felines at heart in the winter.

Predators often spend much of their time sleeping to conserve energy. Staying out of the cold is just another way to limit the time they have to spend finding food in the winter.
