I don’t see how this could be more accurate. Sums it up perfectly. I first noticed what I call the dumbing down in the early 1980’s when I was working in a department store and we had a recent high school graduate come in looking for a job and he couldn’t even fill out the application. I can only imagine the education system has only gotten worse. If I had children I would not send them to school. I’d home school them and probably do a better job.
My sister home-schooled my niece and nephew because they were picking up bad habits in the music program they had. I imagine some home-schooled kids might be as lucky as they were, but it’s not the way to bet. (Yes, they’re excellent musicians now, and he just wrapped up a degree in philosophy and stepped into a job that was basically made for him.)
