Hey, let’s stereotype Republicans, Libertarians, Independent Conservatives, and Centrists who oppose our policies! Surely they can’t be a principled opposition and must be demons!
True, but you wouldn’t know it by judging the stereotypes thrown at Democrats.
As for this cartoon - it would have a point if it was some humongous, never-seen-before spending bill and deficit was the biggest problem the US facec. I’m not saying tens of billions are chickenfeed, but it won’t make a big splash in the overall deficit - and right now, the US needs new jobs and looser investment more than anything else. I think the project can do fairly well at stimulating both.
“Hey, let’s stereotype Republicans, Libertarians, Independent Conservatives, Democrats, Green Party, Independent liberals and Centrists who oppose our policies! Surely they can’t be a principled opposition and must be demons!”
“Democrats want to give free stuff to people who don’t want to work and take the incentive out of working hard for the rest of us”
Funny that you’d mention this in a toon about federally-funded building projects. You know, the kind where construction companies get money to build stuff which people then get to use. It doesn’t really sound like “free stuff to people who don’t want to work,” but what do I know?
It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating. Obama’s latest stimulus for small businesses and infrastructure improvements is worth 5 days of the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. The GOP has no problem writing blank checks (unfunded spending) for the military. Shouldn’t we do something for our own country for a change?
”Republicans want to give free stuff to people who don’t want to work and take the possibility out of working upward for the rest of us. Tax cut and spend.”
Watching the energy industry spending more money on “don’t tax us” ads, than what they pay in taxes, or royalties–interesting take on “don’t tax what I spend”.

The Republicans want tax cuts for millionaires and no social security for the rest of us.
