Reminds me of the time I discovered my brother and I were using the same toothbrush for a week. I wondered why there was only one toothbrush in the holder so I asked what he had been using and his answer was, “Ummm, my toothbrush that’s in the holder.” I replied, “No that’s mine. I’ve been using it….ohhh noooo.”
Dogs’ mouths are filthy too because they’re carnivores (or at least mostly carnivorous omnivores), and scraps of meat attract bacteria. OTOH despite their reputation rat bites are surprisingly clean, because their front teeth grow all the time and are constantly renewed, and they bite into wood a lot which polishes them up.
