I think gun sales increase less because people have more imminent fears of facing a criminal with a gun…and more because they have more imminent fears of losing the ability to buy a given gun. Far fewer people call for restrictions on tranks.
I heard a comedian on tv say that a comparison to, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people” was “Toast doesn’t toast toast, toast toasts toast”!!! A better version for the former would be, “Guns don’t kill people, people WITH guns kill people!” And, YES, I’m a gun owner. Many, in fact!
