“There are 4000 to 5000 mosques in the United States.”

The first Mosque in the United States was built in Cedar Rapids, in 1934 …the real birth of the USA.

You have the right to express your opinion. And you have the right to be a bigoted moron.

I know, right? Congress should make some law respecting an establishment of one correct religion, and should prohibit the free exercise thereof for all the other ones. That’s obviously the intent of the founding fathers.

I think Obama should go all around the country forcefully explaining how he totally backs the construction and anyone who disagrees is ignorant of our constitution and is a bigot. The law is on his side, go to every single state and speak out!

You have the right to loose your freedoms when Sharia law gets put in place.

Oh nevermind, it’s our grandchildren’s problem. Let them deal with it.

What’s “wrong” about people using rights they are guaranteed in our Constitution? Bob Gorrell does not even agree with America’s founding document?

I can’t think of a clearer example of “un-American” than the sentiments expressed in this cartoon.

    ”^ say, what ?”

If you tried to build anywhere without papers you would be jailed and your property will be demolished. Also its a community center that’s being built but the news guys (CBS included) are spinning this as a mosque. Something must be going on for the fear mongering to be this intense.

Would we allow Jim Jones, or David Koresh, or any other leader of a death cult to build a monument to their conquest(s)?

With the sole exception of the sheer number of followers, how does Islam differ from those death cults?

While all religions begone as cults, even as death cults ,Christianity, for example, they have all gone through waives of reformations and for the most part accepted ‘modernity’.

Why don’t we tax all the “church owned property” that is NOT the actual house of worship? Might take a big bite out of different government’s debt.

The part of a recent group of immigrants muslim-faith that I do not like is the washing of their behinds in our public sinks…this is the kind of “religious” expression that should be curtailed. So is the rite of passage involving the importation and ingestion of spider monkey meat.

    Assimilate,

or go back to your third-world-cr@p holes!

I usually try to ignore this idiot puppy, but sometimes he just goes beyond the limit. I don’t flag, but if I did, I would flag this post for sure. What an unpleasant person. Not just stupid, not just intolerant, not just a fool, but a really unpleasant odor in the room.

The conundrun is well presented. There are legal rights and moral rights and they are often in opposition.

    FIDOETTE -

“The part of a recent group of immigrants muslim-faith that I do not like is the washing of their behinds in our public sinks…”

where i live we have public restrooms where the local fishing fleet throw fish entrails, the local alcoholics/drunks toss their cookies, the pederasts hang out waiting for new blood, the dope dealers sell their wares, where un-leashed dogs unload what they find in the trash cans, and alot more amusing incidents occur.

have you not been in a walmart restroom and seen minority mothers and fathers cleaning their babies behinds ? i even saw this “cleaning process” manifest itself in neiman marcus.

so i really can’t upset w/ your opinion of people trying to get clean. “americans” do it , too.

Whoa! If building a community center two blocks away, that you can’t even see from ground zero, causes the conservatives’ knickers to twist this much, imagine if Muslims offered to help rebuild the twin towers!!!

I never thought I’d miss George W. Bush, but he at least had a clear head on not slamming Islam, and saying that we’re not in a war of religion against religion. These new conservative leaders (and yes, I include Harry Reid in that) are finding that they can gain traction in certain parties by being really intolerant bigots.

Let’s hope that most American voters are better than this.

better check out Mr. Rauf and his beliefs about “dialogue” with non-Muslim religions… http://pajamasmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2010/08/16/ask-walid-michael-bloomberg-doesnt-speak-arabic-and-other-tales-of-the-ground-zero-mosque/?print=1

Mr. Simon quotes ex-Mideast terrorist Walid Shoebat who knows Islam from birth and knows the Arabic language Rauf speaks….who translated Rauf quotes that Simon reports in the above article.

this is a huge CON JOB to move closer to getting Sharia Law installed in the USA….an “infidel” nation and culture, as Islam teaches while stifling dissent……or, “dialogue”.

(to repeat my opinion posted elsewhere….Muslims enjoy full “religious freedom” all over our 50 states (or maybe all over our 57 states as Obama said during the ‘o8 campaign)….and NYCity has over 100 mosques already and the NY governor offered free land elsewhere in the city for a new mosque…..) FACTS.
