I failed health one year in high school. Didn’t turn in a required term paper. My dad made me do one and take it to the teacher during summer break. I found the teacher out working on the school building, and we chatted a bit, but I didn’t offer the paper. I told my dad that the teacher said it was too late to accept, and he accepted that. Now that he’s dead, I guess it’s safe to confess one of the few lies that I’ve ever told.
