Food manufacturers put way too much sugar in food. Look, if I want candy, I’ll eat candy! Otherwise, make something with flavor that isn’t so sickeningly sweet!
Consumer’s Union has been fighting this battle for decades. Customers can always add sugar or salt to taste but there’s no way you can take it out. Some manufacturers even charge extra for unsweetened or unsalted foods. One reason the manufacturers keep doing this is because not enough consumers tell them otherwise.
