Yes, ISIS’ campaign to “eradicate the greyzone” is going well – with the enthusiastic aid of the racists of Europe on both sides. The set of obvious racists, those with shaved heads and quasi swastikas (and their political allies) – and the liberal imperialist racists who destroyed Libya and Syria and are the cause for that refugee flood in the first place.

It is interesting, and revealing, that the refugees are not heading to Russia or Iran.

There is a lot of money in Brussels.Belgium has its own Africa karma to deal with.

Born in Brussels as the second (but eldest surviving) son of Leopold I and Louise of Orléans, he succeeded his father to the throne on 17 December 1865, reigning for exactly 44 years until his death. This was the longest reign of any Belgian monarch.

Leopold was the founder and sole owner of the Congo Free State, a private project undertaken on his own behalf. He used explorer Henry Morton Stanley to help him lay claim to the Congo, an area now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At the Berlin Conference of 1884–1885, the colonial nations of Europe authorized his claim by committing the Congo Free State to improving the lives of the native inhabitants. From the beginning, however, Leopold essentially ignored these conditions. He ran the Congo using the mercenary Force Publique for his personal enrichment. He used great sums of the money from this exploitation for public and private construction projects in Belgium during this period. He donated the private buildings to the state before his death, to preserve them for Belgium.

Leopold extracted a fortune from the Congo, initially by the collection of ivory, and after a rise in the price of rubber in the 1890s, by forced labour from the natives to harvest and process rubber. Under his regime millions of Congolese people died; modern estimates range from 1 to 15 million, with a consensus growing around 10 million. Human rights abuses under his regime contributed significantly to these deaths. Reports of deaths and abuse led to a major international scandal in the early 20th century, and Leopold was ultimately forced by the Belgian government to relinquish control of the colony to the civil administration in 1908.

    1. Death toll in Brussels about the same as our average DAILY toll to guns in the US.

    2. The primary cause of “terrorism” and rise of “terrorist” groups around the world, is indeed the occupation of foreign lands, from the Congo to Iraq, Afghanistan, or Chile and others where natural resources are the goal of the occupiers and the natives are restless, and helpless against such powers. Empires are costly to maintain.

Refugees and migrants fleeing civil war and poverty are showing support for the victims of the attacks in Brussels. Many are worried the attacks will spark xenophobic fears that terrorists are among the thousands fleeing war-torn Syria. 40% of the refugees are children.

Have we heard from the right (if anyone’s left that is?) to let us know if we can tell hope from song and go on with our everyday worries and frets, and shortly turn to watch a game and slowly our memory ebbs and forgets, what was that again?

He’s not confusing neo-liberalism with liberals; he wishes to criticise who you term as liberals within your country and the actions they take in your name and under the label of being liberal i.e. US Democrats. I get his criticism; a few years back on this forum I routinely criticised Obama’s continuation and intensification of the US/Western drone programme and met with stiff opposition from some (one in particular), or just plain silence, from the left/liberal crowd here. The right, as expected, roundly countered my criticism. Only in the last few years have the left/liberals been condemning the drone programme as well.I’m just puzzled by his ‘apparent’ support of Putin and Putin’s Russia, or rather, his lack of condemnation of Putin’s actions/RealPolitik. If he so wishes he can clarify his position, else all I see is hypocrisy on his part. His posts have so far been mostly hit-and-run, without engagement so I can only assume a trollish intention. If his intention is to satirise, like Michael_wme used to do, then he is failing misarably.Btw, I can stand to be corrected. Except there have been no replies to my posts (as far as I know).

"Tell me what “right/liberals” are? How do they differ from “left/liberals”?

From the discussions I have observed on this forum I have taken on board a clear differentiation of leftists and liberals who typically occupy the political “left”. That’s who I include in my ‘left/liberal’ label. Right/liberals, your description, I can only guess at. You tell me what you mean.
