Ah, you may leave here, for eight days in space,But when your return, it’s the same old place,The poundin’ of the drums, the pride and disgrace,You can bury your dead, but don’t leave a trace,Hate your next door neighbor, but don’t forget to say grace,And you tell me over and over and over and over again my friend,Ah, you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.

“Eve of Destruction” is a protest song written by P. F. Sloan in mid-1964.

The congressional republicans fight to budget NASA while the Democrats try to increase the budget. The staunch Republican opposition to studying climate and weather changes on Earth is surprising. Reagan and Bush I supported robust plans to study the Earth from space. Reagan oversaw the creation of a space policy directive the first objective was “to expand knowledge of the Earth, its environment, the solar system, and the universe” “Let us remember as we chase our dreams into the stars that our first responsibility is to our Earth, to our children, to ourselves. Yes, let us dream, and let us pursue those dreams, but let us also preserve the fragile world we inhabit.” – George Bush (the first one)

@Mr Blawt the last I heard, the democrats were trying to get NASA to reach out to the muslim countries to promote inventions made by muslims. Not exactly “rocket science.”

Congratulations to Mr. Kelley. The studies to come with him and his brother should prove very interesting, and rewarding. This family, and Gabby included, are a true American family to be proud of, service, courage, and even pushing for a rational approach to Earth bound safety with reasonable gun control. (They’re all gun owners btw.)
