I am eternally grateful to our Border Collie Gray who taught himself to stop just inside the door when his feet are wet. I never said a word to him; he just started doing it. He’s also the one who taught himself to roll onto his back when I need to get between him and the foot of the bed in the middle of the night. THE smartest of all the BCs we’ve had.

Why don’t they take Fred’s front door key away from him until he learns to wipe his feet? (Not to mention everywhere else.)

Fred appears to be cognizant but what are his choices? is there a mat to wipe his feet on?
