The Republican’s favourite wet dream is that Hillary gets indicted, which puts her out of the race. Only one thing wrong with that fantasy – a sloppy administrative procedure in an immerging technology, when there is ample precedent for that procedure, is not an indictable offense. Unfortunate for the Republicans, but this will not be a cheap short cut to victory. They will have to earn the victory honestly.

I’m starting to come around to the idea that the GOP has become so infected by the leadership’s years of hysterical warnings about “people who aren’t like you & don’t share your values”, that Trump might actually win the nomination. The Palin endorsement is a litmus test. Any sane person would conclude that Trump is running for Reality Show Star In Chief, not President.Bernie is still way behind Clinton in national polls. But to be honest, if I were a Republican, at this point a Sanders win might be the best possible outcome. It’s unlikely that he accomplishes much of his agenda & is bounced after his first term. A Trump loss to the likes of Sanders might shake the rebellious base out of it’s insanity & pave the way for a viable candidate in 2020.A Trump win destroys the GOP by destroying the alliance between the libertarians, the social conservatives & the bigots. Be careful what you wish for.
