This is Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield character on ‘Caddyshack’) before his automated golf bag.
In fact, it’s encouraged, Vegas Viper. You’re easier to aim for.
To me, its looks like duck & cover.
I agree, his caddy is playing it safe. One downside, though. If the caddy hands him the wrong club,he might get rolled into the nearest water hazard.
