Where does the GOP dig up these crazy people. Carpet bomb was a popular idea during Viet Nam and it didn’t work there either. Are we going to elect the biggest blowhard as president? Is that the way we make America great again?

Typical GOP stance. Do as I say, not as I do.

About 76 (Feb, 2014) still in service. With a designed ‘combat radius’ of ~4,500 miles, so a loaded range of ~9,000 miles, finding a landing strip should not be a ‘diplomatic’ problem. I have no idea of actual cost/mission/unit.

Actually, the B-52 has been many times upgraded on its defenses, and is a far more reliable platform than the B-1B (most taken out of service now, duds) or the B-2 stealth, parked most of the time.

Got caught beteen two 52’s once in Nam,was very interesting watching the jungle come up at us while about a 1,000 feet AGL. We did NOT change course as they flew over.
