Today pretty much sums up the relationships among our leading trio of characters. Irwin is winsome and always sees the best in anyone or anything. Broomie is eager for affection from any man or reasonable facsimile thereof. Gaylord is cynical and abrasive (but will usually get a zap from Broomie when he deserves it).
