    the breaking news that there’ll be film at 11 – which in a digital age seems rather silly – but then News has been subsumed by Entertainment, so silly is probably a good thing, right?

    One of the former local anchors used to start the 4:30 segment of the late afternoon/early evening newscast by saying, “If you’re just getting in, welcome home.” I always wanted to hear her say, “If you’re just getting in, where the h€ll have you been!?”

    In my city breaking news on TV consisted of a garbage truck fire with a load of smoking trash dumped out. What some TV news departments consider news, LMAO
