Traffic in my city is bad enough when they have to stay on the road, and hopefully between the lines. I can just imagine the chaos if cars could fly—and bits from collisions raining down on people’s heads.
It might work for self-driving (self-flying) cars, if they had the equipment to look out for each other. Unfortunately, that would require a high level of foolproof technology.
The biggest problem with flying cars was that you had to leave the wings at the airport which meant you had to go back for them to fly, or else tow them behind as a trailer and risk getting them smashed.
