A South African friend of mine now lives in Chicago. Popped into Nando’s and walked out into a full on protest against the police. He said it reminded him of home in the ’80s.
Funny, but Chicago’s more like tenth on the list of dangerous cities for murder or gun crimes. The top three are in states where cities are forbidden to enact new gun ordinances. Forbidden by whom? What a silly question.
Kip, Chicago doesn’t even make the list of top ten danger spots. What it DOES have is being Obama’s home town, run by his buddy Rahm.
There are now videos of bad cops in a lot of cities, and what happened in Chicago was wrong, as elsewhere, but blaming the mayor, governor, or other leader for the acts of every individual in the jurisdiction seems a uniquely conservative attack strategy. Conservatives doing the same thing rarely get blamed, Christy is a bit of an exception, well deserved it seems.
