One of the worst attacks on Obama over ISIS came from someone I would NEVER have expected to go so far beyond the pale, Ben Stein. []In a statement on NewsMax.com he recently said that President Obama, ‘Has a real strong hatred for America’ because he’s half black. ( Yes, he did. Google “Ben Stein” “Barack Obama” and “Kenya” )[]What’s truly disappointing is, even from Glenn Beck or Michael Savage that would have be an extreme statement, but Ben Stein? Up until now, I had him pegged as one of the more thoughtful conservatives.[]Apparently, that is now an extinct species.[]And yes, that WAS a racist statement on his part.
The horrific behavior is ISIS seems designed to force response. It seems that their plan is to draw the US and its allies into a ground war. After initial losses on the part of ISIS, guerilla war would follow. The porous borders would allow for steady streams of funds, weapons, and recruits. The US soldiers and their allies would have a hard time, as taught by the Vietnamese, telling who among the populace is a friend, and who is an enemy.
ISIS would have more and more support from those who (understandably) become upset with a country they are sympathetic to being invaded. The war would drag on and on and has the potential to widen, widen, widen.
If ISIS is lucky, they get the US (aka “the Great Satan”) into a fight with Russia (aka “the Lesser Satan”). They take out two major opponents.
America and its allies should respond, but should do so with the above thoughts in mind. To do otherwise would be folly. America and its allies can defeat ISIS, but it is a different sort of war unfolding, and a different approach is needed.
While piobaire is essentially correct, America has been distinctly straddling two stools over ISIS. As with al Qaeda, it’s on the same side as ISIS against Assad in Syria; against the Houthi in Yemen; against the Taliban in Afghanistan; and its colonial overlord the zionist entity has explicitly stated that it prefers ISIS to Assad even as it openly aids and succors al Qaeda. So America would probably like to do what ISIS wants it to do.
Note that the two Syrian families (two men, two women, and four children) were caught when they “presented themselves at a port of entry in Laredo.” Ooh, my blood runs cold, thinking of those scary kids. THEY’RE SYRIAN!!!
Is anyone else worried about the fact that the most militarily powerful nation in the world is being run by a bunch of under-educated, congressional & bureaucratic morons and presidential wanna-be’s?
If you think of the Republicans as loyal only to their paymasters, then their position on the president, who has refused to continue giving American tax money and young lives to industry, makes sense. The paymasters don’t employ the Republican party for their brains after all.
I worked with a Syrian, whose family still lived in Aleppo when the war broke out, and he was worried for they’re lives.I had worked closely with him on a project and found him very intelligent and eager to learn. He was working on his PH.D. in electrical engineering when I retired last year.Afterwards, I never did find out what happened to the rest of his family, but it can’t be good.
welcome to the ostrich club. that’s where you bury your head in the sand and hope it all goes away. your happy as long as the government takes care of you gives you free phones, health care and wipes your butt.. you are pathetic group and thank goodness not all democrats are like you. and Jim Morin you should change the spelling of your last name. you actually make me ashamed i am a democrat.
Before Obama had a chance to do anything, both Gomery and M cconnell had republican put as they number 1 priority "To Make Obama fail. This has been their 1st priority over jobs, the economy, and over education and the well being of our very Nation.this is old news. As the republicans have been getting more fearful the hate level has increased.

Whatever happens, the republicans play right into ISIS’ hands and give them what they want. They are so easily manipulated.
