Speaking of “Shake it Off,” I really like the PostModern Jukebox cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tv94swj4sjo

Well, now I’m curious to know what a gloomy version of “Shake It Off” would sound like.

I like Lord Splendid Humility. It would be nice if those running for office in the real world were more like him.

“It is a well known fact that anyone seeking the office of president is, ipso-facto, unfit to hold the office.”

With apologies to Douglas Adams because I probably got the wording of the quote slightly wrong from Life, the Universe, and Everything .

This is the best strip currently running, but why reference a specific song? It’s a great song. But it may not be remembered years from now and this strip will likely endure for some time. Being dated can be charming. I doubt anyone knows (including me) who the Peanuts are talking about when they mention Miss Frances, but that’s what makes the strip quaint. But referencing a specific song as the punchline seems too much.

It can indeed be a dirge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5dh6yp_Z9U
