This reminds me of the old eerie campground tale of a man who marries a woman with a ribbon tied around her neck. He constantly asks why she has that ribbon and she always responds with, “It’s no concern of yours; leave it alone.” Alas, after many years together the wife takes ill and is on her deathbed. The husband cannot be consoled, professes his undying love for his life but still is ever curious about that ribbon around her neck. “My dear mate,” she replies, “upon my unfortunate demise your question shall finally be answered.” She eventually expires and at long last, with curiosity piqued and with trembling fingers the husband unties his wife’s ribbon…..and her head falls off.
