Roger: Do you realize I'd been working nonstop for Pembrook since college? I didn't just quit this week, I set myself free! Free to read! Free to write! Free to dance! To sing! To finally live this thing called life! Andy: Well, you'd better get started, then. Roger: I thought I'd take a nap first.

I’m blessed to be at the same place for 20 years. As to the toon, I need to keep reminding myself that this one was written long before the financial meltdown, so job hunting had a different feel. (See this in “The Norm” too).

When in doubt, procrastinate. I do it every afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00. But sometimes I wait until later.

Let’s see, at an interview do I ask, “whadda i gets paid?” or do I ask. “Where is this company going and where will I be?” The second will get you hired and answers do you want to get hired. Job security vs pay. You decide.
NABUQUD When I was young, naive, and knew everything as an undergrad, I too ran a chain convenience store. At least it prepared me for the real world.

At interview for me I was asked why I applied for the position I guess they where baffled, I should have asked well if your not interested in hiring me why did you waste my time interviewing me when you know who you are going to hire. Now with company’s it’s who you know and not the skills. My hubby where he worked at seen it too many times. Hire someone not skilled because someone knew someone from HR. Hey Roger I hope, the time frame of this strip, jobs are plentiful and have no trouble getting back. Now days with out higher education you can’t. What boggles my mind having an Associate’s Degree or better just for files that are starting to go electronic.
