Ted Rall for June 28, 2010
Transcript:
Barack Obama: ...a 6-month moratorium of drilling. Man: He's treating us like a kid! He's giving us a "time out"! He's just waiting for the news media to get distracted by something else. He's so sure we're stupid that he's telling us he thinks we're stupid! Barack Obama: Beddie time! Go to sleep!

Is that a Hello Kitty flag there in the background of frame 1? :D

Jade - you must be new to Ted Rall’s comics. The “Hello Kitty” question should be in a FAQ if one existed for these comics… :)
Yes, Obama has a friendly Hello Kitty for his logo.

^ Something like 9 years now, I’d say.
@guolo - I’ve been reading for a while, I just haven’t seen it.

Ah yes, the hypnotism of pretty words. It’ll all be alright if you only believe!

The press has been taking increasing doses of Ambien for the past 25 years. HIgh doses of Ativan and propranolol also, to forget what happened to them.

There are plenty of good media outlets out there. They are the ones not owned by big corporations. Try “Democracy Now” and FAIR’s “Counterspin” to start. They are both available on podcasts. FAIR is Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting, an NGO.

I rarely have issues with MSNBC. Rachel Maddow’s reporting on the oil spill and Keith Olbermann’s on health care, for example, have in no way towed any corporate line.

Former English proofreader says, “That’s why I’m retired.” My bad.

@sirromsirrom - I wish she’d spend a little less time on the oil spill. :(

@Jade – I would too, but it’s important, and not everybody is as politically educated as you and I. Her reporting has been more in-depth than anyone else’s on this and several other subjects. She does spend more time than I would like on “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” but then again, I can’t think of any other openly gay person who has a national TV show, and gay issues deserve a voice and an advocate, too. Her investigations of the C Street shenanigans were really revelatory. We could use a few more intelligent Maddows to offset the inane Hannitys and Becks.

^ You must mean national news TV show…howzabout Ellen?
WarBush almost 14 years ago
^Agreed. How many times can you go on listening to Hannity’s “Obama Oil Spill” rant and Beck’s “Visuals” as he explains to his viewers what socialism through Cartoons.
