As they say on those TV shows that I don’t watch, you go, girl! It is indeed a pleasure to see confident young Mona in full bloom! And Raoul, bemoaning his lost opportunity? –Priceless!
We can wait before she turns into her sullen present self….
^No, I don’t think quite. This Mona is sharp and sexy. It would be great to give her back a bit of that joy and sass. And you know what? I don’t think it would ruin the strip in the least. (Well, maybe for M. Smokey, but I have long harbored a suspicion that Smokey is what’s holding her back).
Have to agree with Catmandew, this all seems like some biased reporting by our intrepid Mona. And really, why is Raoul supposed to feel regret? That he wasn’t interested in what he had to view as a silly child? To me anyway, it appeared there was a significant difference in ages.
Why does living well always seem to require either revenge or some form of gloating that other people have regrets now? If you live well, for yourself and not in defiance or reaction to others you’ll find it’s much better thn obsessing over others.

But then what happened to make her like she is now? This is really interesting to see Mona’s backstory!

Mona in the first frame looks more like a Donna with long hair, except for the chin.

On with the story. 3 panels of Mona smiling?

This looks way too much like an embellished version of history.

I started reading this comic back when they wee in Hawai’i and Donna and Mona looked like sisters then…so i can see your point.
So, what turned her into the chain smoking cynic she is today? Let’s watch and see…
