“So obviously the answer to stopping gun violence is to get rid of all the people???”.I knew you wouldn’t give a straight answer to a straight question.

Play stupid if you want. You only make yourself look like the fool. .OK. I’ll play your little game. No, getting rid of all the people is not an answer, much less an obvious answer..Now how about you answer mine?

“The shooter in Oregon targeted Christians. That makes him someone from the left. Why did the butt head go where he knew no one would be able to stop him for several minutes?”The shooter had a social media profile that described himself as a, “conservative republican.” Only a troll would suggest that all atheists are liberal & no conservatives are atheists. Plenty of mass murderers identify as Christian, for that matter. The idea that shooters pick out “gun free zones”, is a myth. They either have a grievance with the place where they commit their crime or they are simply picking someplace where they know there will be a lot of people in a single place.

I am a legitimate gun owner who keeps my firearms safely locked up when not in use. I have a CCP and that requires training and “competency” that should be required for ANY possession of a firearm, not the limited review the Brady bill actually retained after the NRA backed Congresspersons gutted it.

The Roseburg shooter lives in one of the most RIGHT WING COUNTIES (Douglas) IN OREGON OR THE WEST! His blog posts so far show him to be, just like Charleston, a right-wing nut case. His question on “are you a Christian” was just confirmation for him that he was doing them the favor of sending them to “God” and heaven.

My son-in-law was raised in Roseburg, his family is still their,my daughter was the first female firefighter/paramedic hired in Douglas County, and then she was a nurse at Mercy, many of their friends worked this case, and they knew the families of the vitims. Yes, I know this area well.

BTW: the shooter was a recent transplant to the area, but did share the “political” leanings of the majority of the county by all accounts.

Controlling the guns certainly is a step forward – just look at Australia.

Lessee.A guy in Oregon kills a bunch of people in a school, and because he asked them their religion first, the righties claim that he was, “targeting Christians” and that the victims are, “Christian martyrs.”But when another gunman killed a bunch of worshippers in a South Carolina CHURCH, , including the minister, we never heard a word from the right about, ’targeting Christians’ or, ‘Christian Martyrs’[] Why was that?

Wow, you speak for EVERYONE else? Who’d a thunk it?

Why exactly did he choose to attack in a church, then?

A real man will be prepared to kill someone with his bare hands….. if you need a weapon, you don’t experience he true meaning of death

“Murder rates in Australia went up after the gun ban for years and years.”You keep repeating this fiction endlessly, contrary to all evidence. Let me point out a summary, a collection of studies that even you might be able to read and understand:http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonkblog/wp/2012/08/02/did-gun-control-work-in-australia/

“Wow. Apparently you can’t tell the difference between murder and suicide. How sad.”Obviously you are not even willing to read. I shall excerpt a sentence from the article about Australia I quoted for you:’ the firearm homicide rate fell by 59 percent, and the firearm suicide rate fell by 65 percent’It is becoming clear that you are a shill of the NRA who’s dire purpose appears to be to blanket these comments with gun nut opinion and offending other people. without ever offering a positive, uplifting contribution. How sad.

Two rifles are now loaded as today is opening day of deer season, and we have tags this year. The pistol in the toon is a good representation of a Chief Special (I know have a Ruger .38 SLR), meant for hunting humans, 2 inch barrel and five round cylinder, carried one for 10 years in law enforcement.

BTW; the Roseburg (my son-in-law’s home town) had a gripe againste ALL “organized religion”, not just Christians, and was a recent transplant to Roseburg. Douglas County btw is one of the most right wing counties, and the Sheriff had sent a letter saying he would NOT ENFORCE the most recent Oregon law requiring background checks for even private gun transfers. He’s not talking about that now.

But gun fetishists would rather 1000 people die that saving 50 with common sense legislation.

Love it. The guys that swagger around carrying guns can’t even shoot straight. Last week a gun nut shot the driver of a car that was being hijacked instead of the hijacker.
