Tom: the anitbiotic I CAN take, allergic to most, went from under a dollar a pill, to over $100 per pill, so that’s “reasonable” profit? That’s a drug that’s been a cheap generic for over three decades, and it got “acquired”.
It was REPUBLICANS who wrote into a “must pass” bill that medicare couldn’t negotiate drug prices. The SAME drug from the SAME company that my VA pharmacy pays $0.30 for, my mom’s Medicare provider charged $31, that’s thirty one DOLLARS for, not cents. You can also thank Republican in committees (they weren’t hardly silent) for putting in the insurance company guaranteed, along with pharma, profits in the PPACA, that Obama signed ’cause it was a first step, that a Republican actually, TEDDY ROOSEVELT, tried to get going, a century ago!!
