Tsk! Tsk! The income tax department does not appreciate that sort of language. They will now add a penalty of $50 to your outstanding account.

With that kind of inexcusible (forgive my spelling) conduct, it should be $50 times 500!

So glad we don’t have to deal with this! We’re driving and tenting this summer!

Why would two people who aren’t in school, and don’t have kids who are, want to take a vacation when everyone else does? With homeschooling, we rarely took a summer vacation.

    Fly the Friendly Skies…..

BTW - you all DID notice the concurrently-running arc in Foxtrot Classics about Mr. Fox’s business trip, right?

Oh Good one! I can’t count the times this has happened to me. Or at least something approaching it.

Why do we allow the companies to abuse us like this? Why can’t we force them to hire people who speak the same language we do and in an understandable accent?

I laughed so hard after reading this comic that I nearly lost my breath and fell out of my chair.

Amen, amen, and amen! Although trying to book a flight during the off-peak season might be slightly LESS horrible and outrageously expensive, it still hardly qualifies as a vacation. ;)

flong, I’m with you totally. I think today’s is a truly exceptional Cathy … it comes closer to the real experiences of all of us than Irving or Cathy ever seem to do, and it doesn’t have to caricature or exaggerate anybody in order to point up what’s really wrong. (The System gets caricatured, yeah, but it’s totally deserved - and nobody is going to concede that it’s any exaggeration.) This one is golden. Only thing is, it really doesn’t have anything to do with any characters in “Cathy.”

For once you could almost feel sorry for Irving – or at least empathize (oh are we allowed to use that word?) because anyone who has ever tried to get any answers in today’s high tech world gets the same garbage.
