Allow the president to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such a purpose - and you allow him to make war at pleasure. Abraham Lincoln

It is difficult for the common good to prevail against the intense concentration of those who have a special interest, especially if the decisions are made behind locked doors. Jimmy Carter

All the waste in a year from a nuclear power plant can be stored under a desk. Ronald Reagan

I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator. Barack Obama

I think we’re forgetting something important here: just how green are those shoes?

The only reason Reagan wasn’t impeached is that Poindexter took the fall.

MYTHS MYTHS MYTHS - God how the GOP loves them and needs them because the truth is far from what the GOP claims.

First I have say it is sad that no one is blowing a fuse that Ramirez is showing Reagan as large as Lincoln, any good American that knows their history should be shocked by this.

The GOP myth of both Reagan is Carter is so false:

Carter was able to forge a Middle East Peace Treaty, he pushed thru Medicare, he restored Americans faith in their government after Nixon, and increased the budgets for the Vet Administion and hospitals.

Reagan said: Tear Down This Wall and they didn’t. Reagan said: Government is the problem then increase it. Reagan said: He was fiscal conservative then trippled TRIPPLED) the National Debt. (As a side note, a Governor of California he inceased State spending 177%, and increased taxes until they were 30% higher) Reagan said he wouldn’t increase taxes, then increased them several times. Reagan said he would never deal with terrorist then set up a secret program to deal with them and provide them with money and arms so that they would release American hostiages. Also he invaded a small island nation and went on nation-wide television to announce that the invasion was a success when it had only just begun. Reagan left the country so in debt and the economy so damaged that it’s fall lead to Bush 1 being a only one term President.

Wasn’t it Reagan’s deregulation that allowed corporations to outsource to China?

LET’S GET BACK TO REALITY! Something’s rotten (not in Denmark) but in the USA ( if it still exists as we knew it!)

Reagan WAS a great speech GIVER. He didn’t write any of it, from Bonzo on to the white house. Though very personable himself, the guys behind him running things were worse than the Nixon dudes who went to prison. Reagan appointed judges who SPRUNG his dudes after they were CONVICTED of felonies, that should have included treason.

No, have to hand it to the “Acting President” he was good at the long con, while his staff shafted the country for eight years.

The truth is seldom perfect, it upsets beliefs, myths, and people’s ideas, the truth is hard for many people to take because it doesn’t offer the safety and comfort of a myth.

Reagan was not one of our greatest Presidents, certainly not as great as Lincoln, Carter was (as I point out in my posts) not a failure, and was much better then Bush who was a failure.

Ramirez is a great artist, but like all political cartoonist he has ideals that he believes in, that often causes him to present what he believes instead of what is true.
