I remember an old timer back when i was young telling me that once upon a time you used to be able to walk into a hardware store and buy dynamite. He said he used to grab a few sticks from time to time for clearing tree stumps on his land. Imagine what the reaction would be if I were to try that in my suburban neighborhood these days …

My kids got hold of a stick of dynamite a ;long time ago. Convinced them to blow a stump with it. it did the job,
