Well, for a Rall cartoon it is important to point out that her legs are shaved, no one has a beard, and there is no blood – So he didn’t draw it.

You could be on to something, Ken Warren.

My very first reaction was to think, “oh, yeah; like we need some cave-man mentality to express our national psychic - maybe we should instate Cheney as president… he’s got that angry thing down.” That would be sarcasm, by the way.

Then I thought, well, that’s the thing I like about Mr. Rall’s work. It’s not some knee-jerk, monochromatic reactionary stuff. He’s complex - its like he’s got a fore-brain (as opposed to being a cabbage disguised as a human as so many in the media appear to be). So then he could be exposing those who called for a stronger, more emotionally irrational reaction from Obama.

I’m not sure what he’s thinking; but it made me think about the whole damned mess and even how BP is only in business ‘cause they serve the demand for product that we collectively wouldn’t do without. And how if you wanted to blame someone you could kick your own backside next time you top-off your car’s tank.

Before I knew any better I had a job surveying oil deposits and I’ve seen the fields in Southern Illinois and the Eastover coal mines in Kentucky close up. The fact is its a messy business and spills and blow-outs happen all of the time. I’m not trying to excuse BP but… if they have acted like this sort of thing happens every day it is because it does - that they hadn’t mucked up the Gulf before is either extraordinary care or dumb luck.

Nevertheless; even knowing that it, makes me feel sick to think of the Pandora’s Box they opened when they drilled the Deep Horizon well. Karma sucks, doesn’t it?

This was evidently taken from an old advertisement for a Charles Atlas Course.

I like the dictionary definition in the third panel. Lulz. Ya. Fly off the handle, I bet that’ll solve all of our problems. :D

I don;t need anger, I need action. Barry should have siezed the company in the first week, sent everyone possible to fix the thing, paid for it out of BP funds, and handed is back to the Brits.

I don’t need to see the man get anger, I need f*ckin’ action. sometimes ‘working together’ ISN’T the best option.

Adam, when Obama criticized and influenced GM to kick out their CEO, he was a socialist maniac who was going to destroy American business – despite the fact that any balanced view of GM’s last 40 years would suggest he should have fired the top 200 executives and started over - and that we owned a majority of the company anyway. BP is not an American company - on what grounds can Obama seize a company? And why should he? That would be a quite explicit act of war. I suggested some things he could do: fine the bejeezus out of them, seize or freeze their property in the US, eg all those gas stations, and so forth. He isn’t doing everything he could, but seizing someone else’s company isn’t a good choice.

If the argument is that showing explosive anger makes you a man, then I’d say the “man” belongs in quotation marks.

Sooky Rottweiler says; vhammon; Ever seen a chihuahua? They get POed so often nobody listen when they bark. Now, labradors, they don’t bark much but when they do, you know they have a reason.

But I’ll admit now would be the right time for the rottie to bark.

    WOOF!

Obama’s speech tonight sucked. A missed opportunity to seize the moment and change the game. Made Ted Rall look like the wisest man in America.
