I used to work for a company that “encouraged” employees to walk up one flight and down two. Waiting for the lift often takes more time than walking, and if you were too lazy to walk that little bit, they might reconsider your employment. Forty years later, I often waste more time looking for the stairs than it would take to ride the lift.
